We are renewing our commitment to humane education with a strategic focus on prevention. By educating children today, we build a more compassionate and responsible community tomorrow.
The mission of Amigos de Animales is to alleviate the suffering of cats and dogs by controlling their population through our no fee sterilization programs. In support of our mission, we believe that it is important to educate the community about the importance of sterilization and respect for animals in general.
We have operated an education program targeting school age children for many years with the hope that these kids become the future ambassadors for animal respect and the importance of population control to their families and communities.
Yesterday, we held our second education program of the year, this time a very large program with 260 children at Jardin De Niños Francisco Gabilondo Soler in San Miguel de Allende. The program consisted of a talk given by our President, Claudia Chavarria with her sidekick Arnie, our mascot (Named after our founder Arno). The kids were engaged and curious to learn – and to meet Arnie. Each student receives an information booklet designed for their families, a super cute coloring book we produce that encourages the kids to treat all animals with respect and dignity and crayons so that they can color together with their family members.
This is an incredibly important program that along with our free sterilization clinics, needs your financial support. If you can, please help us to continue with our mission.
