This past Saturday August 08th, we experienced a moment that will forever be part of the history of Amigos de Animales de San Miguel de Allende.
During our mass spay and neuter campaign, we reached a milestone we once could only dream of: our 35,000th sterilization.
But 35,000 is not just a number.
Behind that number are 35,000 lives, 35,000 opportunities, and thousands of animals who will have a better chance of being spared the suffering and abandonment that so often begins with an unwanted litter.
This achievement belongs to everyone who has believed in our mission throughout these 25 years: our donors, whose generosity makes surgeries, medications, and supplies possible; our volunteers, who give their time, energy, and hearts; the veterinarians who have shared their knowledge and skills; and every family who has made the responsible decision to sterilize their companion animal.
To all of you, thank you.
But reaching 35,000 does not mean our work is finished.
There are still countless dogs and cats who need our help. There are still communities where access to sterilization is limited, and there are still animals whose lives can be changed simply by preventing another unwanted litter.
So today, we celebrate—but we also ask you to help us keep going.
